Every year on 12th May, International Nurses Day gives us an opportunity to recognise the extraordinary work nurses do every single day.
From hospitals and clinics to communities and homes, nurses are often the people who provide comfort during life's most difficult moments. They care for patients with compassion, advocate for families, offer reassurance in times of uncertainty and bring calm, kindness and expertise when it is needed most.
Their impact reaches far beyond medical care alone. Nurses support, guide and uplift people through some of the most challenging experiences they will ever face. Today is about celebrating and thanking every one of them.
At Victoria Green we would also like to recognise the incredible work of the specialist nurses supported by Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity.
Roald Dahl Nurses provide vital specialist support for seriously ill children and young people living with complex medical conditions across the UK. They work closely with families, helping coordinate care, offering emotional support and making an immeasurable difference to the lives of those they care for.
Recently, we had the privilege of meeting some of these remarkable nurses and hearing directly from the families they support. Listening to their experiences highlighted just how important this specialist care network is, and the profound impact these nurses have every day.
